Behind The Brushstrokes: The making of our Lyra Print
Come behind the scene with Hannah Buckle, our print designer and creator of the Lyra Print, as she shares insight into how the print was inspired by the collection's concept, the design process and her favourite silhouettes.
Lyra is a bespoke arrangement of hand painted motifs inspired by vintage travel and days spent seaside. Hand painted in-house, the print features three styles, including a mini dress, a midi dress, and a playsuit designed for multiple outfitting options.
What was the inspiration behind the Lyra print, and how does it link to the overall theme of the AW Collection?
Nostalgic travel - Writing a postcard home from a luxury coastal hotel in the 60s.
Favourite part of creating this print?
Researching vintage stamps/ luggage tags and postcards. Vintage travel graphics are my all-time favourite, I love their rough and stylised hand drawn nature.
What was the decision-making process like for the colours and composition within the print?
There were many scale options in the mix, but the colours were set from the start. The dusty yet fresh pastels on an ivory ground felt quite resort yet elevated.
Favourite silhouette?
I love them all!
