Our Story

Kiki’s dreams of becoming a fashion designer began in her youth when her mother taught her how to sew. Despite starting a career as a radiographer, her dream never faded. Kiki’s first foray into what would become KIVARI was a small collection of leather accessories sold at the local markets all while working full time as a professional radiographer. This small and unassuming creative experiment flourished in 2012 when Kiki packed her bags and headed for Sydney with one dream, the dream of creating KIVARI.

From working out of her spare room in Bondi, to pop up boutiques across the Northern beaches and eventually opening her first flagship boutique in Freshwater, Sydney. KIVARI has continued to grow and evolve into an internationally loved fashion label.

At KIVARI, every piece is created with the intention of representing and celebrating the modern women. Each detail is considered and lovingly crafted to create the perfect piece. Designed by women, for women, KIVARI is known for its distinctive aesthetic, unique pieces, effortless essentials and flattering silhouettes.

Today KIVARI has 4 boutiques across Australia; Noosa Heads, Byron Bay, Freshwater and Miranda, a successful online website and an impressive list of luxury doors around the globe.

As a nomadic spirit, Kiki’s life has, in many ways, been defined by her travels and connection to ‘place’. She has adventured to beautiful places that have left their imprint on who she has become as a woman. In particular though, her connection to the sea.

A Note From Our Founder

Ever since I founded KIVARI back in 2010, I’ve wanted to create fashion that expresses the personality of the woman who wears it. I believe that the most beautiful woman in the room is always the one who knows herself best. KIVARI is created by women for women. We understand what real life is like and bring our intuitive and lived experience to design flattering, effortless ensembles that celebrate women’s bodies. We are strong, yet we are feminine. We are free, we are limitless and we are conscious of our impact on the world.

As KIVARI has grown and evolved over the years, so too has my commitment to creating a more sustainable future. Running a business we have the opportunity to help people's lives and the environment. For me, that means being transparent about our journey. We’re throwing our support behind the charities that are actively making a difference, acknowledging our footprint and ensuring our approach to each and every piece—from the first stitch until it lands in your hands—has been thoughtfully considered.

Put simply, we want to do our part to help create a better tomorrow so that every time you wear a KIVARI piece you feel like you’re making a difference, because together, we can be the change we want to see.

HQ

Kivari HQ is located in Sydney’s sparkling Northern Beaches on Gadigal land. Our team consists of 17 strong, independent women, made up of mothers, best friends, sisters, daughters and community leaders. Our core values of integrity, courage, passion and community make our tribe of creatives unstoppable.

As a fashion label, we know our impact on the environment hasn’t always been a positive one, but we are committed to continuously looking for ways to minimise our footprint. Which is why we created an inhouse sustainability role at HQ so that along with the basics, like recycling and using KeepCups, we’re consistently making changes that really matter.

From looking at how we can be more eco-conscious at HQ to our supply chain, the life cycle of our garments, design process and our transparency with customers (because you’re part of our journey too), our sustainability manager is our pledge to better look after the world we live in.
